IOLA COOPER
Iola Cooper, 96, of Platte City, MO, formerly of Kellogg, IA, passed away, Monday, January 1, 2007 at Hillview Nursing Rehab in Platte City.
She was born on March 23, 1910 to Wade and Sylvia (Ellis) Bleakney in Jasper County, IA, where she grew up and attended school.
On August 28, 1926 she was united in marriage to Harmon Lewis Cooper. After their marriage they lived in Kellogg where they farmed and made their home. On November 15, 1981 her husband, Harmon, passed away. In 1996 Iola moved to Platte City, MO.
She worked as a cook at a local caf? ?n Kellogg for many years.
Iola was a member of the Kellogg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, three daughters, Betty Keenan, Beverly Shine, and Donna McBrayer, one grandson, Craig Miller, and two great-grandchildren, Tommy and Nick.
Iola is survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday January 5th at Pence-Reece Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Silent City Cemetery, Kellogg, IA.
