Ida May Shultz
Ida May “Mambo” Shultz was born February 20, 1924 to John Henry and Florence (Stocks) Bush in Westdale, MO. She attended school in Faucett, MO. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Taos, MO.
She married L.D. “Slim” Shultz on November 4, 1947 in Bentonville, Arkansas. They lived in Kansas City until 1951, when they moved to Platte City where they lived for several years before moving to rural Platte County, where they made their home. After retiring, they moved to Warsaw, MO in 1986. Ida resided at Gower Convalescent Center, Gower, MO, at the time of her death.
Ida helped build B-26 bombers during World War II, and later worked at Pioneer Grill in Kansas City, Nickerson Farms in Platte City, and the TWA Cantina in Kansas City.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999, and by her parents; brothers Bill, Gene, Bob, Francis and Dickie Bush, and a sister, Rosemary Hiatt.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Hinnant and her husband, Dave, of Scottsdale, Arizona, Connie Riggs and her husband, Randy, of Newport, North Carolina, and Becky Sellars and her husband, Rick, of Edgerton, Missouri; five grandchildren, Chris Riggs, Jeff Sellars, Jonathan Riggs, Jaime Sellars and Kristina Weston; seven great-grandchildren; sister Patricia Dent; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:30 a.m. with visitation from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton.
Burial: Ridgely Cemetery
