Homer Lee Etheridge
Homer Lee Etheridge, 90, of Kansas City, MO, passed away, Friday, March 25, 2011.
He was born on July 31, 1920 to Roy Lee and Margaret Ann (Johns) Etheridge in Kansas City, Kansas. He grew up and attended school in Kansas City and Seymour, Missouri. Homer moved back to Kansas City, where he lived since 1942. Homer served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
On July 4, 1953 he was united in marriage to Doris Jean Haughey. After their marriage they made their home in Kansas City. His wife, Doris, passed away February 5, 1985.
Homer worked at Firestone Tire Company in Kansas City retiring in 1965.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Anna Lou Higgins and Goldie Hagett.
Homer is survived by his brother, Albert Etheridge and wife, Velda, Kansas City, KS; sister, Irene Winslow, Grandview, MO; sister-in-law, Alice Ray Carroll, Kansas City, MO; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Allen Cemetery, Gower.
