Helen Nadine “Teanse” (Nagle) Meadows

Helen Nadine “Teanse” Meadows, 80, of St. Joseph, MO, passed away, Sunday, March 27, 2011.

She was born on April 7, 1930 to Clarence W. and Mae (Hayes) Nagle in St. Joseph, Missouri. Teanse grew up in St. Joseph and attended Benton High School.

On October 2, 1954 she was united in marriage to William M. Meadows, Jr. After their marriage they lived in St. Joseph where they made their home.

Teanse worked at Townsend and Wall Department Store in St. Joseph. She then raised her family, and was a homemaker most of her life. Teanse also worked at Hirsch’s and Zales Jewelry at East Hills Mall in St. Joseph.

After her retirement she discovered her love for golf. She was a member of Fairview Golf Course in St. Joseph, participating in several ladies leagues, where she made many longtime friends. Teanse also enjoyed quilting, fishing, and spending time with her family at the Lake of the Ozarks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Raymond Nagle, and sisters, Dorothy Santry and Nita Waller Bruner.

Teanse is survived by her husband, Bill, of the home; two daughters, Jan Ruoff and husband, Greg, Savannah, MO, and Shelley Williams and husband, Bill, St. Joseph; grandchildren, Mandy Klein and husband, Corey, and Bethany Ruoff; great-grandchildren, Emma and Trevor; brother, Howard Nagle, St. Joseph, MO, sister-in-law, Ginny Jefferies, Leawood, KS; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 30th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
