Helen Louise (Rogers) English

Helen Louise English, 98, of Plattsburg, MO passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at a nursing home in St. Joseph, MO.

She was born on October 11, 1913 to Guy Hamilton and Sarah Catherine (Colley) Rogers in Lathrop, MO. Helen attended school and grew up in Plattsburg, MO. In 1932 she graduated from Plattsburg High School.

In January of 1933, she was united in marriage to Austin English. After their marriage they farmed in the Plattsburg, Lathrop and Polo area and in 1946 they settled in rural Plattsburg where they continued to farm and made their home. Her husband, Austin, passed away in 1960.

Helen was a member of the United Methodist Church and attended the Bethany Christian Church, north of Plattsburg. She was also a member of the Plattsburg Extension Club and 4-H Clubs.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, William Wesley English in 1955; two brothers, Virgil Rogers and Laurence Rogers and one sister, Mary Kellam.

Helen is survived by one daughter, Helen Jean McMichael of Trimble, MO; five grandchildren, Gary McMichael, Rodney McMichael, Loretta Warren and husband Virgil, Donna Bagwell and Linda Sykes and husband Bob; five great-grandchildren, Debbie, Jason, Michael, Mellissa and Joshua; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Flood; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends..

Funeral Service:11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 21^st at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with visitation one hour prior to the service.
