HELEN L. MEEK

Helen L. Meek, 89, of Gladstone, formerly of Smithville, Mo., passed away, Friday, January 13, 2006 at Woodbine Health Care Centre in Gladstone.

She was born on December 12, 1916 to Francis W. and Callie M. (Carson) Foster in Chilhowee, Mo. She attended school and grew up in Warrensburg and northeast Kansas City.

On October 21, 1933 she was united in marriage to Marcus Meek. After their marriage they lived in Paradise, Mo., and later moved to Smithville. Her husband, Marcus, preceded her in death on March 24, 1965.

Helen was a member of the Paradise United Methodist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother; Don Foster and sister; Marjorie Hendrix.

Helen is survived by a son; Jim Meek and wife, Karen and granddaughter; Laura Meek, all of Kansas City, Mo., brother; Francis C. Foster, Gladstone, Mo., sister; Doris Rennison, Kansas City, Mo., and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 16, 2006 at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, Mo. with visitation one hour prior to the service.
