Helen L. (Barton) Ruoff

Helen Lorene Ruoff, 91, of St. Joseph, MO passed away Monday, December 21, 2009 at LaVerna Village in Savannah, MO.

She was born on April 10, 1918 to John Bates and Myrtle (Cobb) Barton in Frazier, MO where she grew up and in 1935 graduated from Gower High School.

On November 7, 1936 she was united in marriage to Glenn Dee Ruoff. After their marriage they lived in the Gower area, Helena and after their retirement they moved to St. Joseph, MO.

Helen was a member of the Central Christian Church in St. Joseph. Helen was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Arthur, William, Shelby, Bob, and Cecil Barton and one sister Dorothy Unterkircher.

Helen is survived by her husband, Glenn, children, Gene Ruoff and wife, Janice, Savannah, MO, Jeanette Luther and husband, Marion, The Villages, Florida, Allan Ruoff and wife, Helen, Savannah, MO, Wanda Peacock and husband, Keyth, Kansas City, MO, Rick Ruoff and wife, Vickie, Savannah, MO, Randy Ruoff and wife, Becky, St. Joseph, MO and Sandy Shewmaker and husband, Jay, Cosby, MO; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23^rd at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower

Burial: Union Star Cemetery

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
