Helen E. (Gray) Ford
Helen E. Ford, 95, of Plano, Texas, passed away, Wednesday, July 30, 2008.
She was born on March 23 1913 to Norman and Grace (Walkup) Gray on a farm near Gower and in 1931 graduated from Gower High School. She then attended Platt Gard Business University in St. Joseph.
Helen worked at Wing Printing Company and then was appointed a job with the government in Washington, D.C., and later transferred to Kansas City.
On August 30, 1941 she was united in marriage to Wilburn E. Ford. After their marriage they lived in Washington, D.C., Kansas City, Chicago, Illinois, Omaha, Nebraska and St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1980 they moved to St. Joseph and in 1999 to Plano, Texas.
Helen and Wilburn were one of 13 couples who were charter members of the Fairview Christian Church in Gladstone and are members of the Gower Christian Church. Helen was also a Girl Scout Troop Leader in Kansas City for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Glena Schulte.
She is survived by her husband, Wilburn; daughter, Paula (Ford) Hanson and husband, Clint, all of Plano, Texas; grandsons, Brett Hanson and wife Pam, Justin Hanson and wife, Mandi and Kris Hanson and wife, Holly; one great-grandson and three great-granddaughters.
Graveside Service and Inurnment: 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 18, 2008 at the Allen Cemetery, Gower, Mo. at the same time the family will be holding a Memorial Service in Plano, Texas.
