HELEN BROTHERTON
Helen Brotherton, 87, of Raytown, Mo., passed away, April 3, 2005 at the home of her daughter, Caryn Miller, near Smithville, while surrounded by family and friends.
She was born on March 17, 1918, the daughter of James R. and Vesta E. (Blair) Hoyt in Gordon, Kansas and also lived in Rockaway Beach and Branson, Mo. In 1941 she was united in marriage to Sterling Smith ?Steve? Brotherton. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City, Mo., and later moved to Raytown where they made their home. Her husband, Steve, passed away in 1986.
Helen was an avid artist and naturalist. She was a full time mom to Caryn and Steve Brotherton for nineteen years and later worked for Southland Corporation for ten years.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and her husband were three brothers, James, Norman and Benjamin Hoyt and two sisters, Mary Tuggle and Bessie Henson.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Caryn Miller, Smithville, Mo., and son, Steven Brotherton, Raytown; grandchildren, Mandy Graves, Jacob Enyeart, Jeff Brotherton, Robyn Enyeart, Travis Brotherton and great-grandchildren, Madison and Anna Enyeart and David and Daniel Graves.
Private Family Services will be held at a later date.
