Hazel Zumbrunnen
Hazel Zumbrunnen, 86, of Independence, MO, formerly of Gower, MO passed away, Saturday, July 8, 2017.
She was born on May 4, 1931 to Thomas and Melva (Webb) Allison in Rosebud, AR. Hazel grew up in Kansas City where she attended school.
In 1963 Hazel moved to Gower where she owned and operated Hazel’s Café. In 1967 she moved to Independence, MO where she made her home.
Hazel enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the casino.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Harold Wise, Bob Hamilton, and Miles Zumbrunnen; brothers, Jack Allison, Raymond Holiman, and Lloyd Allison; and grandson, Rodney Smith.
Hazel is survived by her daughters, Judy Smith and husband Bob, Savannah, MO and Lucille VanNess and husband Bill, Hemple, MO; grandchildren, Ruth (Tom) Mitchell, Steve (Kelly) Smith, Jimmy (Angel) Scearce, Jason (Tausha) Smith, and Debbie (Eric) Rush; eleven great-grandchildren, Olivia, Owen, Morgan, Landon, Cole, Jamee, Jessica, Peyton, Drake, JT, and Trevor; sister-in-law Melva Allison; step-sons, Mike Hamilton and Donnie Zumbrunnen; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 11th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with visitation one hour to the service.
Burial: Allen Cemetery, Gower.
