Hazel Rae (McDaniel) Hempy

Hazel Rae Hempy, 89, of St. Joseph, MO, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2010.

She was born on March 26, 1921 to William Lee and Delila Lora (Quinn) McDaniel in Hemple, MO. Hazel graduated from Gower High School.

Hazel was married to Milo Hempy and they later divorced. She worked for C.D. Smith Drug Company in St. Joseph where she retired after many years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother James Lowell McDaniel; sister Elizabeth Carlyne Thompson; an infant sister Donna Maxine McDaniel; brother- in-law, Harold H. Williams; and sister-in-law, Helen McDaniel.

Hazel is survived by brother Donald Lee McDaniel, Kansas City, MO; sister, Verna Carol Williams, St. Joseph, MO; sister-in-law, Velma McDaniel; nieces and nephews, Beverly Vendelboe, Jerry McDaniel, Sharon Askey, Steve McDaniel, Gina Thouvenell, Danna Patton, and Ashley Williams; several great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 6^th at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO
