Hazel D. (Uthe) Land
Hazel Land, age 80, daughter of Perry and Chloya (Searcy) Uthe was born July 13, 1929 in Pattsonsburg, MO. She passed away October 28, 2009 at Houston House surrounded by her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Forrest and Morris and a sister Lynn Winkler.
Hazel is survived by two sons; Wayne Land and friend Debbie Lee of Houston, Tom Land and wife Glenda of Grafton, WI, two daughters; Debbie Shook and husband John of Houston, MO and Vicki Thomas and husband Richard of Smithville, MO, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She grew up in northern Missouri and raised her family in Smithville, MO before moving to Houston Missouri in 1996.
Hazel loved her family and spending time with them. She was a wonderful cook, loved reading, traveling and shopping. Hazel loved the Lord and attending Faith Fellowship church where she was a member.
She was a wonderful Christian lady, mother, grandmother and friend. Hazel is now with her heavenly father rejoicing in his presence. She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank the employees of Houston House and Hospice of Care for their compassionate service over the last year. The family is also grateful for the prayers during this difficult time.
Graveside services: 2:00 P.M. Sunday November 1st the Smithville Memorial Cemetery with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
