Harold F. Brinton

 

Harold Brinton, 87, of Plattsburg, MO, formerly of Gower, MO, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2010.

He was born on February 21, 1922 to Robert Finis and Mary Hazel (Smith) Brinton in Agency where he grew up. Harold graduated from Agency High School where he played basketball. He then served his country in the U.S. Army.

On March 21, 1946 he was united in marriage to Saramae Utter. After their marriage they lived in the Dearborn and Gower areas where they farmed. Harold participated in 4-H with his children and grandchildren. In 2007 they moved to Plattsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Dorothy Mae Brinton, granddaughter, Brandy Ford, grandson, Kurt Brinton, brother, William C. Brinton, and sister, Elizabeth Gay.

Harold is survived by his wife, Saramae Brinton, of the home, children, Kitty Ford and husband, Mike, Liberty, MO, Harry Brinton and wife, Bev, Gower, Jane Jackson and husband, Roger, Gower, and Mary Kay Brinton, Smithville, MO; grandchildren, Kristen, Michelle, Amy and husband, Jamie, Jennifer and husband, Tim, Deanna, Danny, Lyndsey and husband, Jeremy, Tiffany, Sharry, Linsay, Tabitha and husband, Kenny, Bradley and wife, Sarah, Brandon, and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Drew, Adriana, Jessica, Melodee, Madelynn, Kaitlynn, Christian, Sydnie, Anthony, Taylor, Gavin, Cayden, Clinton, Kaylin, Matthew, Aden, Carter, Jayden; brothers, Bob Brinton and wife, Betty, Mesa, AZ, Eldon Brinton and wife, Erma, Gower, Ronnie Brinton and wife, Joann, Gower; one sister Maureen Shorley, St. Louis, MO; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 11th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

Burial: Agency Cemetery.

Visitation: 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

    I am sorry to read about the loss of your husband/father. I have many fond memories of the family through 4-H. I noticed Harold at Clinton Care while visiting Mom there last month, but did not take the time to speak with him. Please accept my sincere condolences.
