Harold “Ed” Wilson

Harold “Ed” Wilson, 73, of Hemple, MO formerly of St. Joseph, MO passed away on Tuesday November 26, 2013. 

 

He was born on August 18, 1940 to Harold Spencer and Dorothy Lee (Tittsworth) Wilson in St. Joseph, MO where he grew up and graduated from Central High School in 1959. 

 

He was united in marriage to Connie Stewart.  Their children were Rodney, Robin and Roger.  They made their home in Hemple.  Ed later married Patricia Schultz they lived in St. Joseph.  They had a son, Thomas. 

 

While in high School Ed went to work for Forest Van Arsdale, farming the Kellogg Seed Company and working in his cabinet shop.  In 1972 after Forest passed away, Ed took over the Kellogg Farm.  He also farmed in Hemple and St. Joseph and sprayed crops for many local farmers.   Ed worked for Boehringer for over 24 years.  While at Boehringer he started with the company washing bottles and in October of 1985 ended his career as Manager of Animal Care.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Roger Wilson and sister, Dixie Coffey.

 

Ed is survived by his children, Rodney Carpenter and wife Cheryl, Platte City, MO, Robin Wilson, St. Joseph, MO, and Thomas Wilson, Helena, MO; grandchildren, Jason, Jacob, Jonathan, Rodney, Dalton and Tyler; brother Kenneth “K.W.” Wilson, St. Joseph, MO; other relatives and many friends. 

 

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 2nd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower

Visitation:  5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Burial:  Agency Cemetery
