Harold Brokaw, Jr.

Harold Brokaw, Jr., 77, of Kansas City, MO passed away December 23, 2011.

He was born on February 10, 1934 to Harold and Helen Brokaw, Sr. in Flushing, NY. The family moved to Virginia when he was 13 and in 1950 they moved to Kansas City, Missouri.

Harold was a sheet metal worker for 33 years until he retired in 1987. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, restoring old cars and traveling. Harold especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle and the numerous “road trips” on his bike with his family and friends. He was compassionate and someone who made friends easily. He was patriotic and always displayed his flag proudly and purchased items “Made in America” whenever possible – that was important to him. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-son, Harold Frank.

Harold is survived by his wife, Lorene (Rapp) Brokaw; children, Cheryl Swartz and husband Sam, Peculiar, MO, Warren Brokaw and wife, Kathy, Lee’s Summit, MO, Linda King and husband Gene, Pleasant Hill, MO, Sheryl Frank, Independence, MO, and Jerry Brokaw and wife Shirlene, Lee’s Summit, MO; step-sons, Doug Sale, Overland Park, KS, and Allen Sale and wife Yuwadee, Olathe, KS; step-daughter, Janice Boker and husband John, Montana; ten grandchildren, Mindy, Matt, Chris, Lori, Brian, Stacy, Bryan, Chad, Aaron, and Alexzandria; eight great-grandchildren, Maisie, Kayla, Devon, Dreak, Bryleigh, Keagan, Connor, and Kylan; sister, Cynthia Southers; brother, Phillip Brokaw and wife Joyce; many fond nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.

Visitation: 1:00-2:00 p.m. with Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

Burial: Blakely Cemetery, Easton, MO
