Harold Bowling

Harold Bowling, of Plattsburg, MO passed away, July 15, 2024.

He was born on September 12, 1943 to Leonard Leon and Mabel Clymena (Wilson) Bowling in Galena, MO. Harold grew up in Galena and graduated from Galena High School.

Harold was united in marriage to Patricia Burk on December 29, 1961. They lived in Smithville where they raised their children. On July 28, 1992 he was united in marriage to Viola (Zewalk) Cannon. After their marriage they lived in Plattsburg where they made their home.

Harold worked for General Motors for 30 years. He built custom cabinets, loved to fish, cut wood, drive his tractors, going to get ice cream and Burger King.

Harold was a member of the Broadway United Methodist Church in Plattsburg where he was the representative for the church at the community food pantry. Harold also helped with the community dinners hosted by the Broadway United Methodist Church. He was a volunteer for Home Delivery Meals, and he and Vi made sleeping mats for the homeless.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Danny Bowling, and his daughter Denise Banks.

Harold is survived by his wife, Vi, of the home; daughter, Taresia (Scott) Foster; step-daughters, Stephanie Cannon and Valisa (Manuel) Jackson; grandchildren, Jason (Amanda) Foster, Kelley Foster (Jenna Owens), Glenn Devin Banks (Morgan), Brittany Ellis, Brandi Ellis, Aaliyah (Jose) Vargas, Joseph Peery, and Chico Jackson; six great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Jackson, Chase, Cruz, Ryder, and Axel; sister, Alice June Pulliam; other relatives and many friends.

Private Family Services will be held at a later date.

Donations may be made to Plattsburg Food Panty, The Gathering Place or Northcare Hospice House.
