Gwen T. (Whitworth) DeRuyter

Gwen T. DeRuyter, 90, of Smithville, MO, passed away, Friday, May 6, 2011 at the home of her niece Cheri Gilstrap.

She was born on January 6, 1921 to Leroy and Maude (Jenks) Whitworth in Lawson, Missouri.

She was a seamstress for Nelly Don and Lee Jeans both in Kansas City, MO for several years.

Gwen was united in marriage to Jack DeRuyter. After their marriage they made their home in Kansas City. Her husband, Jack, preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Antioch Bible Baptist Church in Gladstone.

Gwen is survived by several nieces and nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 9^th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, 104 W Church Street, Smithville, MO 64079.

Burial: Mt. Moriah Terrace Park, Kansas City, MO.
