I think of the words that my mom shared with us when my dad died suddenly on Christmas Eve several years ago. She said that in life or death they are both the 'up side'. On one side we got to keep him in our arms here on earth. On the other side he has a new, healthy body and he is the arms of Jesus in Heaven.
