The Condolences for

Rheta McDowell

Christine McDowell
Independence

She called me daughter-in-love. It took me by surprise, but I loved that she loved me that much. It's been a great joy to be welcomed so warmly by her into her family. There are not words to capture her vivacious and generous nature. Her stories were plentiful, and often confusing for me since I didn't know many of those who peopled her life; but they were entertaining and made clear that so many were important to her. I will miss her very much. I'm extremely grateful for the love she extended to me. Rest in Jesus' arms, and happy reunion with those who have preceded you to Heaven.

No words can express the love I had for you. You were there when times were hard and tacos were on the menu. You loved our little family from the day we started going to Trimble Baptist. To the family my condolences are with you and always. She is dancing with “Big Guy” and sitting at the feet of Jesus talking his ear off or just listening in awe. Love to everyone.

Sending my love and condolences to Rheta’s family as I’m just learning of her passing earlier this year. Theta was incredibly kind to my mom when she and family moved to Trimble back in late 1980’s and she welcomed my mom to sing in the choir at Trimble Baptist even though my mom was struggling with her breast cancer spreading. Theta encouraged her, prayed with her and sang with her and was a good friend and a faithful servant to the Lord. Rheta helped with my mom’s service when she passed in March of 1990 and I will never forget her kindness. As so many others stated here, Rheya loved people and was a beautiful, shining example of a lady who loved the Lord with all her might. Blessings to her family.
