Sorry to hear, father was a good man. The kids he coached appreciated him. I know my girls enjoyed being coached by him.

Paul was my friend from first grade in Mrs. Marie Kerr's room. At recess time my friends Charlene Ryon and Rebecca Lowman and I played "house" with first grade sister, Nancy, behind the spirea bushes below Mrs. Hansford's second grade room at the "old' elementary building. Nancy's role was that of "baby sister as I recall. Mrs. Julia Cummings was my Sunday School teacher who gave me a bible in 1947 and I have moved it many times. She and his witty dad, Paul Sr., are among my treasured memories of growing up in the friendly, supportive, accepting atmosphere of the Smithville community in the 1940's and '50's. How lucky we all were!! I don't remember meeting you, Pat, but you must have been someone very special in Paul's opinion. Indeed, all of you must realize that to us who met him daily for the twelve years of schooling he was a fine athlete, a competitive scholar, trustworthy leader and a handsome guy with a great brushcut! Almost every girl had a silent crush at sometime in her career. My deepest sympathy for your loss but very grateful for the time we all shared together. Most sincerely, Barbara Burgess Lavery

I worked with Paul for many years at RayPec I had 3 of his stellar daughters in class. He also had my daughter, Amy on his basketball team in 1993. Paul was a good guy. It was easy to make him smile. He adored his family and loved basketball. I pray Pat and the children will find comfort with Gods presence. Please know I am praying for peace only our Lord can deliver. With love, Ruth

There are not many teachers left at Ray-Pec that worked with Paul. I'm glad to have had the honor. He cared about the students and staff, and was always ready to have some fun. My fondest memory of Paul is from parent teacher conferences. I was at my desk facing the hallway. An attractive mom was seated at my desk facing me. Paul stood in my doorway, pulled up his shirt, and rubbed his belly and chest trying to get me to break character. When he retired I took over his elective classes (sociology and psychology) which I have loved teaching. His spirit lives on at Ray-Pec.

Gary and I surround you all with love. Gary recalls coaching under Paul and learning so much from him at Ray-Pec. He ran Paul’s plays just three years ago and registered an undefeated season for RP East MS. My sister, Misty Reser Koper, who was part of that RP State Championship, along with our family, were blessed to be a part of your family. Rest In Peace Paul.

Paul was a fellow teacher at Raymore-Peculiar High School. He always had a mischievous smile and enjoyed a good joke in the faculty lounge. I was privileged to help him as the clock-keeper for his basketball team. If Mrs Custer was not able to be there, I would keep the score-book for Paul and the team. We had a great time for several years, but the 1992-93 season was very special. Winning the State Girls Basketball Championship was a highlight of my teaching at Ray-Pec. I moved my family on to Richmond, MO and started my administration career, but always kept Paul and family in my thoughts. My sincere condolences to you and your entire family.

I just learned of Paul's passing and though late, I'd like to send my condolences to the family. Paul was by far my favorite teacher and coach (track) in High School.
