Derk was my cousin. I spent lots of time with Derk, his sister, Barb and brother Mitch when we were children. I still remember him as a beautiful boy with large, beautiful eyes who was always full of fun. I was so saddened to learn of his death this morning when my cousin, Barb, called. Derk was a good friend to me for many years. And although its been many years since i last saw him, it was a friendship that lasted the test of time. Derk was certainly a man of easy going sociable character and would befriend any soul that came his way.
