I was so saddened to hear about the passing of Cory. Ken Fortney, former basketball coach at Plattsburg, telephoned me this morning with the news. I was a Physical Education teacher and coach at Plattsburg from 1973-1977, and had Cory, Chris and Steve in my gym classes each day. They were all such wonderful boys to get to know and watch as they matured in sports as well as in their lives. My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Cory. I am so glad I purchased and read Cory's book that was published in 2010, "Never Surrender." It is a treasured book that will be on my bookshelf forever -- filled with stories and names from the four short years I spent in Plattsburg. Sincerely, Scott Phillips
