Jan White

Janet Kay White passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, at her home in Trimble, MO. In her last days she was cared for by a wonderful daughter-in-law Rachel and great group of hospice nurses from St. Joseph. 

She was born to Bob and Iris Swan on January 1, 1947, in Wichita, KS. She was the third child of the Swan’s. Surviving are her brother Mike of Las Vegas, NV and sisters Marla of Kansas City, MO and Joy of Paris, TX. Her sister Lindie of Kansas City, MO preceded her in death. Jan graduated from Heights High School in Wichita, KS in 1964.

In 1968 she was married to Crayton White in Wichita, KS. Jan was a great seamstress and costume maker and owned Clowns and Rainbows Costume Shop in the Pawnee Plaza Shopping Center in Wichita, KS. Jan and Crayton have one child Greg and daughter-in-law Rachel, one grandson Preston and his wife Leah, one granddaughter Alex and one great-grandson Oliver.

In 1995 they retired and moved to the Smithville Lake area to be close to Crayton’s mother Alice LaVerne Welton of Smithville, MO.

Jan always said she had a wonderful life and fine family and many great friends. 

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Sunday, May 19th at 3:00 p.m. at the Trimble Community Building.

    Jan was a talented and amazing woman, wife, mother, grandma and Gigi! We all loved her so much and will miss having her here in daily life. But we will care her with us in all we do for our remaining days her.
