Ginny Watson

Ginny Watson, 63, of Smithville, MO passed away, May 15, 2023.

She was born on February 12, 1960 to Lester and Evvalyne (Waters) Lloyd in Smithville, MO. Ginny graduated from Smithville High School in 1979.

On June 25, 1980 she was united in marriage to Steven Watson. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home. Her husband, Steven, passed away, June 4, 2018.

She worked for Citibank in Kansas City for over 20 years. Ginny loved art, painting, gardening, camping, four wheeling. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, son Michael Daniel Watson, and grandson Michael Dean Benton. 

Ginny is survived by her daughter, Christina Benton and husband Arron; son, Bradley Watson; grandchildren Kylie Watson, Zoey Benton, Gabriel Benton, Oliver Benton, and Adalyn Benton; siblings, Randy Lloyd, Bonnie Rasmussen, Diana Montgomery, Teresa Fischer, and Jeff Lloyd; mother-in-law, Carolyn Anders; brother-in-law, Joe Wayne Watson; sister-in-law, Dianne Watson; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 19th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, MO with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial: Community of Smithville Memorial Cemetery.

    I am so sorry to hear of your family’s loss. I was blessed to be Ginny’s cousin however, I moved away when I was 7 in 1973. Ginny was always so kind to me when I was young and I will forever have fond memories of her.
