Ethel was the sweetest lady I ever met. And such loving care she took of her sister Mary. I am a former employee of Justus Drug Store and the Medicine Shop. I talked to her many many times over the years. Such a long life. She was a real lady.

My parents Harold and Barbara Swanson lived down the road from Ed and Ethel back in the 1960's when I was born. They bought Aunt Mary's old house. Mom, my brother and I were just talking about Ethel a few weeks ago. I found an article on line when Ethel celebrated her birthday last year. Mom said she still looked the same. Mom and I went to visit Ethel and Aunt Mary back in the 1990's after they moved to town. We had a wonderful trip down memory lane and enjoyed cherry pie with them. Ed, Ethel, Aunt Mary and Albert did the best they could to teach Barbara the city girl the ways of country life.

We were blessed to have been her neighbor for several years - had many fun moments with Ethel. She was one if the sweetest people I’ve ever known.
