In Remembrance Of

Eileen Hansen

It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of our beloved Eileen Marie Hansen.

On May 6, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer, Eileen passed in the loving care of her husband Jeff, with their beautiful children, Lucy and William, by her side.

Eileen was born on March 5th, 1968, in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. At 5 years of age, she moved to Vermont with her family where her love of nature began to take root. She especially loved the peace of the woods. Upon graduating high school, she decided small town life was no longer what she needed and headed to Boston, Massachusetts. Eileen worked hard, putting herself through college, earning her degrees in Anthropology and Archaeology.

Eventually Eileen met the man of her dreams. They wed shortly after and had two beautiful children, Lucy and William. Family was her top priority. They settled and raised their children in Kansas City, MO. Eileen’s greatest achievement in life was being a wife and mother. She inspired her family to be kind and generous.

She had a deep passion for the culinary arts, which led her to become an outstanding baker and cook. She hosted many private parties, school events, and outstanding home cooked meals for her friends and family. She spread her love through her own love of food.

Eileen had a significant impact on many people’s lives. She cared for us all and she will be greatly missed. Eileen left this earthly world peacefully, reuniting with her heavenly family.

She was preceded in death by her brother Andy Mays and her niece Mary Harris. Leaving behind her parents Robert and Audry Mays. Siblings, Henry Mays, Darrell Mays, Suzie Lowe, Elizabeth Harris. And her 23 nieces and nephews.

And most importantly, leaving behind are her husband Jeff of 29 years, and her children Lucy and William, whom she loved dearly.

May the spirit of Eileen’s love and passion carry us through until we meet again.

    Jeff and Eileen’s beloved children,

I was so, so sad to hear of Eileen’s passing. I cared for her on CA11 and she genuinely made such a big impact on me for the short time I had her. I still have that painted heart on my side table to serve as a reminder for why I do what I do. I get to meet such amazing souls like Eileen and your beautiful family. She was such a fighter. So positive and cheerful, despite the pain she was enduring. I can’t even imagine what you’re going through during this time, just know I’m thinking of you all. The way you all loved her, and the way she loved you all was truly so amazing. Jeff, seeing you care for her was so moving. Ive never witnessed so much love for a partner like you had for Eileen. Your caregiving skills were unmatched! I wish I could’ve been there for her service, I just know it was beautiful. I hope this reaches you well and my thoughts are with you guys as you face this incredible loss.

    Best,
    Sierra Becker

Eileen was the kindest woman who was a second mom to my daughter Ava. She always welcomed Ava into her home and fed incredible meals. Her giggle was contagious, I have many good and funny memories while raising our girls together. She will be missed by so many people. Eileen loved her family fiercely, and will always be with them in spirit. ❤️

While I wish I could pay my respect to such a wonderful woman in person, I send many wishes and positive vibes to the family.

Elieen was always such a sweetheart every time the first time I met her when the family came to visit Lucy in Arkansas at a little cabin to the random FaceTimes/phone calls with her and Lucy to the time she let me spend the night at the house with Lucy during Covid. Heaven gained a very special angel. She will truly be missed and I hope the family finds peace during this difficult time. ❤️
