Karla (Pulliam) Austin

I was proud to have Ed as my older stepbrother. He was bigger than life, never knew a stranger, and always reminded me of Santa Claus on a Harley. He was so proud of his kids and their spouses. He absolutely adored all of his grandkids, and I could see how much they loved him. He moved north and I moved South, life got in the way, and we didn't see a lot of each other for several years. I would run into Dan sometimes when I was visiting in Missouri, but didn't really get to know Zac and Megs until this summer when I spent a few days with Ed. Ed was so proud to have me meet the whole gang, especially the grandkids. Ed and I spent that weekend talking, laughing, watching scary movies, and reflecting on how lucky we have been, especially when it came to 'sharing' Ryan. I'll miss his late night phone calls and his laugh, but I know he's at peace. My heart goes out to his entire family.
