Grace Brushwood

Grace Brushwood, 90, of Gower, MO passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009.

She was born on February 1, 1919 to Edward Allen and Mary Jane (Hicks) Hale in Ava, MO where she grew up and attended school.

On February 17, 1943 she was united in marriage to Minor William Brushwood. After their marriage they lived in Gower where they made their home. Her husband, Minor passed away on September 5, 1958.

Grace was a member of the Gower Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and loved to cook, quilt and being around her family.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Mosier, her parents, three sisters, Edna Mae Hale, Opal Fay Hale, and Gladys Sanders; four brothers, Chester McClelland, Clarence Hale, Elmer Hale, and Richard Hale and one grandson, David Mosier.

Grace is survived by three daughters, Bonnie Owens, St. Joseph, MO, Ladonna Wells, Gower, MO, Dorla Hill, Platte City, MO; one step-daughter, Ginny Simmons, Scottsdale, AZ; two sons, Buster Mosier, St. Joseph, and John Brushwood, Branson, MO; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Nellie Hatcher, St. Joseph; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 18th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home Gower

Burial: Allen Cemetery, Gower

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
