GOLDA V. LITFIN
Golda Violet Litfin, 96, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away, Monday, November 20, 2006.
Golda Violet Litfin was born on October 7, 1910 to John and Matilda (Mueller) Stites in New Castle, Wyoming. In 1926 she graduated from high school in Hot Springs, South Dakota. After her graduation she moved to California where she met and married Leland “Lee” H.D. Litfin. After their marriage they lived in California and her husband, Lee passed away in 1956.
Golda worked as a checker for Safeway until her retirement in 1975 and in 1995 she moved to Missouri.
Golda was an avid bowler and bingo player. She received The Greater Kansas City Women’s Bowling Association, Senior Bowler of 2000-2001 and bowled until 2005 at the age of 95.
Golda was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Taylor and husband, Jesse, Excelsior Springs, MO; grandchildren, Dan Taylor and wife, Linda, Tustin, California, DeLynn Smith, Smithville, MO, and David Taylor and wife, Rebecca, Nashua, MO; five great-grandchildren, T.J. Smith, Mandy Grindel and husband, Ed, Anastasia Ramsey and husband, Todd, Elias Taylor and Rachel Smith; and great-great-grandson, Riley Ramsey.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at Pisgah Baptist Church, Excelsior Springs, Mo.
VISITATION: One hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements: Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, Mo.
