Gloria Tospon Crouch
Gloria Tospon Crouch, 67, of Lathrop, MO went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2018.
She resided in Lathrop, Missouri. She also lived in Port Townsend, Washington and Hotchkiss, Colorado. Gloria was loved by all that knew her. She had a heart of gold. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands.
As a young girl she grew up in St. Joseph, MO. For a short time, she lived in Austria while her father study medicine. She graduated from Central High School. She later graduated from Missouri Western State College with a degree in Social Work and a minor in Psychology. She worked in youth crisis and the Sunshine Center for drug and alcohol rehab.
Gloria spent a life of volunteering. She served as vice president, secretary, treasurer of the Heartland Hospital Women’s Guild, March of Dimes – Mothers March Chairman. Additional roles she served at Hawthorne Elementary PTA as secretary, historian, treasurer, and publicity chairman. Central High School Booster-4 yrs. She spent countless hours working with CAWS-animal rescue in Colorado and worked closely with M’ Shuggy’s animal rescue in Savannah, MO.
Her hobbies and interests include baking, gardening, paddle boarding, snowshoeing, skiing,cooking, hiking, dance workout classes and traveling around the world. She cherished most her family and friends and loved spending time with them.
She is survived by her loving, caring and devoted husband Roger, who she was with for over 30 years. Surviving children are Victoria (Rickel) Criswell and William Criswell of Alamo, California, Thomas and Amanda Rickel of St. Joseph, MO, Roslie (Crouch) Sission and Pete Sission of Seattle, Washington; Grandchildren- William Criswell VI, Carson Criswell, Tyler Criswell, Dominic Merr, Allie Sission and Mimi Sission. Gloria is also survived by her sister Claudia (Tospon) Heggestad and Gene Heggestad of St. Joseph, Laverne (Tospon) Shell and Vaugn Shell of Carmichael, California.
Gloria is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Dale Tospon and father, Dr. Hooker Tospon.
Graveside Services: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19th at Lathrop Cemetery
