Glenn D. Hughes
Dr. Glenn D. Hughes, 95 years old, passed from this life on July 9, 2012.
He was born on March 7, 1917 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Katherine and Joseph S. Hughes. He lived most of his life in St. Joseph, MO where he graduated from Lafayette High School in 1936. He was a plumber until graduating from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1947. He joined his Father, Dr. Joseph Hughes in the Hughes Chiropractic office in St. Joseph in 1947 and semi-retired in 1985 to live in Gower, MO.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Moila, MSCA of Missouri and a member of the Gower Old Timer’s Baseball Hall of Fame and the famous and exclusive “Beaver Club” of Gower.
He is survived by one daughter, Jana (Don) Pint; granddaughter, Brandy (Derrick) Bauer; grandson, Manuel (Alicia) Wilson, all of Lakewood, CO; daughter-in-law, Janice Hughes; grandsons, Dr. Rick (Christy) Hughes and Dr. Chuck (Kellie) Hughes, all of St. Joseph, MO; seven great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Hellam Hughes, his parents, sons, Dr. Roger Hughes and Dr. Don Hughes; brothers, Gerald and Donald; sisters, Jean Hamilton Vertine, Fern Hicks, and June Whiteman.
