Gladys Mae (Dray) Murphy

Gladys Mae Murphy, 92, of Trimble, formerly of Holt, MO, passed away, Thursday, October 14, 2010.

She was born on May 2, 1918 to Ivan and Catherine Belle (Hill) Dray in Kearney, MO. She grew up and attended school in Holt, MO.

She was united in marriage to her husband of 30 years, Samuel Murphy. After their marriage they lived in Trimble, Paradise and Smithville. He passed away on October 1, 1984.

Gladys was a homemaker on the farm, raising her five children. She enjoyed fishing, crafts, traveling, and being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, seven sisters, one nephew, and one great-grandson.

Gladys is survived by two sons, Billy Murphy, Trimble, MO, and Gary Murphy, Kearney, MO; three daughters, Faye Dexter, Concordia, MO, Wanda Odor, Trimble, MO, and Sarah Hankins, Forsythe, MO; eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maurine Nicely, Liberty, MO, and Marie Finley, Kearney, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 18^th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial: Paradise Cemetery.
