Gerald “Jerry” Lewis Oliver

Gerald “Jerry” Lewis Oliver, 79, of Trimble, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Gerald was born on June 3, 1947, in Jackson County, Missouri to Edward L. Oliver and Aileen L. Oliver. He grew up in the Lake of the Ozarks area and attended Camdenton High School in Camdenton, Missouri, graduating in 1965. He attended the University of Missouri his freshman year before continuing his education at the University of Missouri–Kansas City.

On October 1, 1970, Gerald graduated from the Kansas City Missouri, Police Academy and began a 25-year career serving and protecting his community as a police officer. He retired from law enforcement in 1995, but his commitment to serving others did not end there. After taking some time off to travel the country on his motorcycle, he went on to become a probation and parole officer in Clay County, Missouri, where he continued serving his community for another 20 years before retiring for good in 2017.

Gerald loved his family more than anything. He also had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and loved camping, traveling, and exploring the country on his motorcycle. Over the years, he rode through 48 states, and most days—regardless of the season—he could be found enjoying time on his motorcycle. He was a proud member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club and especially enjoyed attending events and spending time with fellow members.

Gerald will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his commitment to serving others, his love of adventure, and his passion for motorcycles. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with the people he loved.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Pam Curran of Trimble, Missouri; his son, Paul Oliver, and daughter-in-law, Christie Oliver, and their children, Madeline and Jackson Oliver, of Overland Park, Kansas; and his daughter, Katherine Oliver, and her son, Adrian Rockstead, of Kansas City, MO and former son in law Charles Rockstead of Trimble, MO, who was like a son to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Aileen Oliver; his sister, Meredith Oliver; and his brother, Carl Wilbrand.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-5:00 p.m. with Memorial Service at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Northside Christian Church, 5114 NW Old Pike Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64118.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which supports injured first responders and the families of fallen officers.
