Georgianna (Buie) Butterworth
Georgianna “Red” Butterworth, 63, of Harrison, AR, formerly of Edgerton, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2008.
She was born on October 23, 1944 to Thomas and Mary Etta (McDonald) Buie in Harrison, Arkansas where she grew up and in 1962 graduated from Harrison High School. Red later attended North Arkansas Community College.
On March 6, 1965 she was united in marriage to William K. “Butterball” Butterworth. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City until 1972 when they moved to Edgerton where they made their home. Her husband “Butterball” passed away on April 25, 1992. In 1993, Red returned to Harrison.
Red worked for the Smithville Town Tavern, the Ramona Villa Nursing Home in Smithville and for the Grand Crown Resort in Branson, MO.
She was a member of the Eagle Heights Baptist Church of Harrison and the V.F.W. Post #5606 Auxiliary in Kansas City.
Red was also preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, Finis Bowman and a nephew Finis Bowman.
She is survived by a son, Melvin Butterworth and wife, Sally, Gower, MO, daughter, Della Holland and husband Donnie, Branson, MO, grandchildren, Cody, Wyatt, Gage and Kayla, two sisters, Peggy and Don Vines and Sharon Bowman, all of Harrison, AR, several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 4th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton, MO
Burial: Ridgely Cemetery, Ridgely, MO
Visitation: 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
