Georgia Lee (Atkins) Reed

Georgia Lee Reed, 86, of Gower, MO passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009.

She was born on November 8, 1922 to Ora Sylvester and Maudie Mae (Maddox) Atkins near Gower, and later graduated from Grayson High School.

In 1946 she was united in marriage to Robert D. Reed. After their marriage they lived in the Gower area where they made their home. Her husband, Bus, passed away, July 31, 1969.

Georgia was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert, son, Steven, grandson, Brian Runnels, brother, Chester Barnhill, and sisters, Genevieve Moore and Margaret McClelland.

She is survived by three sons, Robert D. Reed, Jr., and wife, Judy, Gower, MO, Chester Reed and wife, Diane, Lathrop, MO, and Kevin Reed and Trina, Faucett, MO; six daughters, Brenda Klos, Peggy Runnels, Alice Noland, all of Gower, MO, Sandy Liechti, St. Joseph, MO, Debra Tate and husband, Charles, Lathrop, MO and Jennifer Voltmer and husband, Stacey, Craig, MO; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was known and loved by many.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 26^th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with visitation from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service.

Burial: Mt. Zion Cemetery, Gower
