George Woodrow Drake

George Woodrow Drake, 82, of Stewartsville, MO, passed away July 18, 2011.

He was born on January 24, 1929 to Floyd and Lillian (Breckenridge) Drake in Tarkio, MO where he grew up and attended school. He then served his country in the US Navy during WWII.

On October 4, 1955 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Arleene Inscho. After their marriage they lived in St. Joseph until moving to their farm in Stewartsville where they made their home.

George retired from Ford Motor Company after over 20 years of service. He was a member of the Gideon’s where he was very active.

George was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Samantha Drake; son, Anthony “Tony” Drake; grandson, Jeremy Drake; sisters Esther Drake and Pearl Meier; brothers, Richard Drake, James Drake, and Louis Morris.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Drake, of the home; children, Randy Drake and wife, Rosalie, St. Joseph, MO, Kevin Drake, Liberty, MO, Jeanne Drake, Stewartsville; daughter-in-law, Sandra Drake; grandchildren, Christopher Drake, Darcy Drake, Stephen Clements and April Clements; sister, Lois Herpich; brothers, Floyd Drake and Frank Morris; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 22^nd at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with public viewing from 9:00-10:00 a.m. prior to the service

Burial: Mt. Zion Cemetery
