ELMER CLARK

George Elmer Clark, Jr., 68, of Gower, MO, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2005 at his home.

He was born on January 4, 1937 to George Elmer Clark Sr. and Leona Moser Clark in St. Joseph, MO who preceded him in death. He has lived in the Gower area for his entire life except for six years when he attended Northwest Missouri State College and began teaching.

On June 9, 1957 he was united in marriage to Nancy May Johnson. After their marriage they lived in Maryville, MO and Lathrop, MO before moving to their home of 44 years in Gower.

Elmer was a football coach and teacher for nine years in Lathrop and Gower. He then farmed for over twenty-five years as a partner with Sid and Sidney Johnson and later with his brother Allen ?Zeke? Clark. He also served in the United States Air Force Reserves and the Air National Guard.

Elmer was a member of the Frazier Baptist Church where he was a trustee and Sunday School Nursery teacher. He also served on the boards of the Gower City Council, the Gower Convalescent Center, the Antioch Cemetery and the Allen Cemetery. Elmer was the Director of the Northwest District of the American Heart Association. He was a Meals on Wheels volunteer and a long time blood donor. He loved and enjoyed children and sports. Elmer was an original coach for the Annual Old Timers Ball Games. He coached for over 15 years and finally became eligible to play the last three years. Elmer was also a member of a long standing group of card-playing friends.

His family includes, wife, Nancy, three children, Michael Scott Clark and wife, Julie, Gower, Sandra Lynne Clark and companion, Ron Collins, Leon, IA, and George Corington Clark and wife, Emily, Parkville, MO, six grandchildren, Lyndsey Lynne Ahmad and husband, Shabbir, Patrick Timothy ?Scottie? Scott and wife, Jane, Curran Clark Lipsett, Georgia Katherine Clark, Jacob George Clark, and Emma Corington Clark, two great-grandchildren, Trinity Lynne Scott and Remle Scott Johnson, brother, Allen Vaughn ?Zeke? Clark and wife, Jane, sister, Erma Lorraine Giddens and husband Curtis, his wife?s family, Martha and Tom Trail, Sidney and Jean Johnson, Jimmy and Connie Johnson, Kathy and Bill Rhoad, and Barbara Johnson, seventeen dear nieces and nephews, their children, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 20th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower
Burial: Allen Cemetery, Gower
Visitation: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home
Donation may be made to Frazier Baptist Church or the American Heart Association
