George Clifford Elrod
George Clifford Elrod, 85, of Smithville, Mo., passed away, Friday, June 29, 2007.
He was born on November 27, 1921 to James and Sallie (McEntire) Elrod in White County Georgia. He attended school and grew up in Habersham County Georgia.
George was an over the road driver for American Bakery and retired in 1980.
On March 26, 1980 he was united in marriage to Ruby Lunsford. After their marriage they made their home in Smithville.
He was a member of Union 335 and the Masonic Lodge.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby, on January 26, 1992, his parents and three brothers, J.S., Berlin, and Roy.
He is survived by one sister, Evelyn Elrod, Cornelia, Georgia and several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 2nd, at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
BURIAL: I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithville.
VISITATION: 7:00-9:00 P.M., Sunday at the funeral home.
