Gene Bledsoe

Eugene “Gene” Bledsoe 78, Longtime Platte County farmer from Dearborn Missouri, went to be with his loving wife Twylia Monday, June 26, 2017.  His final moments were spent in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family, friends and neighbors.
 
He was born in Edgerton, Missouri on October 7, 1938.  Gene was the son of Florence Tanner Bledsoe and Hale Bledsoe. 
 
He married the love of his life Twylia Stalder on March 12, 1959.  They had one daughter, Dianna Bledsoe Schweizer.  His wife preceded him in death January 30, 2014.
 
He graduated from North Platte high school in Dearborn where he liked playing basketball, in 1958.
 
Gene farmed and raised feeder pigs and enjoyed coyote hunting with friends. 

Gene was third generation to work the family farm which was a century farm started by his grandfather William Bledsoe. He was a member of the Edgerton Christian Church.

 
Gene was preceded in death by his parents Hale and Florence, his wife Twylia, and brother Kenny.
 
He is survived by his devoted daughter Dianna Bledsoe Schweizer, husband Danny and his faithful furry friend `Babe’.

We would like to thank Hospice Compassionate Care of Kansas City and his nurse Chasity, who took great care of Gene.     

 
Funeral Service:  11:00 a.m. Thursday June 29th at Hixson-Klein Funeral home in Edgerton. 
Visitation:  6:00-8:00  p.m.  Wednesday,  June 28, 2017 at the funeral home.
Interment: Ridgely Cemetery
 
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made to the Hospice Compassionate Care of Kansas City or Ridgely Cemetery.
