Gary Wayne Sparks

Gary Wayne Sparks, 58, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014.

 

He was born on December 4, 1955 to Obert Kenneth and Elise Eileen (Huff) Sparks in St. Louis, MO.  Gary grew up in Jennings, MO and in 1973 he graduated from Jennings High School.  He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, MO. 

 

On November 30, 1991 he was united in marriage to Lisa Marie Hundley.  After their marriage they lived in Kansas City North where they shared their loving Christian home with their girls Madi and Brit.

 

He worked for AOS Cloud in Olathe, KS.  Gary was a member of Grace Community Church in Smithville where he served as a Deacon.  One of Gary’s favorite things was watching his girls on the volleyball court: coaching, cheering and giving constructive criticism. 

 

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Obert and Eileen Sparks and his in-laws Bob and Tommie Hundley.

 

He is survived by his wife Lisa; daughters Madison and Britlyn Sparks all of the home; brother Lee “Sonny” (Ruthie) Sparks; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law David and Stephanie Hundley, Robyn and Gregg Hinton, Brian and Michelle Hundley, Leigh Anne and Willie Savaiinaea; nieces and nephews Kim and Tim, Ken, Maggie and Dusty, Heidi and John, Hayleigh and Adam, Alison and Tyson, Jessica and Nicky, Chase, Bryce, Jenna, Tyler; numerous great and great-great nieces and  nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends.

 

Memorial Service:  7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25th at Grace Community Church, Smithville with visitation from 5:30-7:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Inurnment will be held at a later date at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Atchison, KS

Donations: the Gary Sparks Memorial Fund for his girls education c/o Community America Credit Union 93010 North Oak Traficway,  Kansas City, MO 64155 .

    Words cannot express my heartbreak of reading about Gary. I loved working with him at WOF. It was a please to reconnect on FB after all these years. My heartfelt sympathy for you, your daughters and the rest of the family . I hope you can find peace in this most difficult time.
