Gary M. Bowen
Gary M. Bowen, 64, of Gower, Mo., passed away, Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Living Communities in St. Joseph.
He was born on April 29, 1940 to Willie Willis and Violet Vijune (Sexton) Bowen in Union Star, Mo. He grew up and attended school in St. Joseph, and in 1958 graduated from Lafayette High School.
On June 6, 1965 he was united in marriage to Mary Frasier. After their marriage they lived in Avenue City and in 1972 moved to Gower where they made their home.
Gary worked for St. Joseph Electronics for over 20 years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gower, the National Rifle Association, and member of the Kansas City Trapshooters Association.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and niece, Penny Bernice Littlejohn.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home, two daughters, Angela Mayberry and husband, James, Independence, Mo., and Andrea Bowen and fianc?, Brian Frederick, St. Joseph, four grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Katelyn, and Jordan, one brother, Marvin Bowen, and wife, Bernice, Maysville, Mo., several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday February 21st at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
Burial: Allen Cemetery, Gower.
Visitation: 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Gower.
Donations may be made to the Hands of Hope Hospice or the First Baptist Church.
