I spoke to Gary on the phone a few weeks before he passed, and told him I wanted to stop by and visit when my wife and I were in the area to attend the NKCHS Class of ’65 Reunion the following summer. He told me he didn’t think he’d be around; I thought he meant he had a trip planned. I was saddened to learn later that he’d passed.
Gary and I’d know each other since 8th grade and although we weren’t pals, he was a pretty gifted athlete and we played a lot of baseball together, and I thought a lot of him. I am happy to learn he had a loving family and community, and I’m sure they miss him. I cherish his memory.
Prayers for his family and friends.
