Freida M. (Boyer) Coffey

Freida M. (Boyer) Coffey, 88, of Gower, MO, passed away, Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Gower Convalescent Center.

She was born on July 9, 1921 to John “Jack” Manuel and Lillian Ernestine (Davis) Boyer in Easton, Missouri, where she grew up. She attended Easton High School, graduating with the Class of 1939.

On March 3, 1940 she was united in marriage to Curtis Q. Coffey. After their marriage they made their home near Easton, where they owned and operated Coffey’s Garage. Her husband, Curtis, passed away December 20, 2008.

She was a member of the Freeman Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Gerald and Lloyd Boyer and granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Fuson.

Freida is survived by three daughters, Eva Gray and husband, Larry, Stewartsville; Peggy Sutton and husband, Don, Aloha, Oregon, and Carol Fuson and husband, Kevin, St. Joseph; five grandchildren, Jeff Gray and wife, Ruth, Kim Thompson and husband, Brian, Rob Sutton and wife, Kim, Becky Smith and husband, Wayne, and Melissa O’Conor and husband, Sean; seven great-grandchildren, Grant, Drew, Anthony, Samuel, Olivia, Ethan, and Emily; brothers, Dale Boyer, Amity, MO and Ernie Boyer, Wichita, KS; and sister, Iona Wigger, Girard, KS; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 21^st at the Freeman Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, Easton, MO.

Burial: Kerns Freeman Cemetery, Easton.

Visitation: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
