In Remembrance Of

Fredrick Neil “Fred” Jones

Fredrick Neil “Fred” Jones, 56, of Smithville passed away Thursday, January 31 in his home.

He was born on June 26, 1956 to William (Bill) and Mary Jones in Kansas City, Missouri.

Fred graduated from Maple Valley State School.  While attending he participated in the State and International Special Olympics earning several medals.  Upon graduation he worked many years at Vocational Services Workshop in Liberty, Mo.  He then worked for 13 years at KCRO, as a document shredder, in Kansas City.

Fred also enjoyed participating in activities of the ARC.  He was light on his feet and would share a dance with anyone who asked.

Fred was known throughout the Smithville community as his Father’s helper.  Always in his Dad’s shadow assisting him at Bill Woods Farm, Crow’s Creek Campground, B&B Marina, and many many others.

Spending time with his family was one of his greatest joys.  When there would be a new baby, such as his nephew, niece or great nephews he would love them and hold them close. but when they got older and wanted to see his things and TV his patience was tested. You would hear him say “baby home”, that was time the children to go home.

Fred brought his own language to this world.  He taught many others to understand and speak it.  He had special names for most people.

Fred’s unconditional love to those in this life will never be equaled.
