Fred William Burroughs, Sr

Fred William Burroughs, Sr., 79, of Smithville, MO passed away Friday, January 20, 2017.

He was born on February 19, 1937 to Kermit Arthur and Florence Ruth (Kepler) Burroughs in Independence, KS.  Fred grew up in Emporia, KS and graduated from Emporia High School. 

Fred was a union pipe fitter in Kanas City and was a member of Church of the Brethren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Bodenheimer and brother John Burroughs.

Fred is survived by his wife Cheri Burroughs and their son Bill (Deanna) Burroughs; children Fred (Pam) Burroughs, Jr., Susan (George) Bratcher and Marcia Conley and their mother Doris Akin; 14 grandchildren; sister Phyllis Pope; brothers Gary Burroughs and Bob (Lilly) Burroughs; other relatives and many friends.

Visitation:  2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 28th with Celebration of Life at 3:30 p.m. all at Gashland Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 8029 North Oak Trafficway, Kanas City, MO 64118
