OBITUARY
FRED MONTEIL, SR.
Fred Monteil, Sr., 95 of Parkville, formerly of Kansas City, MO, passed away, Sunday, August 8, 2010.
He was born on May 23, 1915 to Joseph Edmond and Magnolia (Henry) Monteil in Kansas City, MO where he grew up and attended school. He then served his country in the U.S. Navy during Pre WWII.
Fred was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Parkville, Knights of Columbus and the Masonic Lodge.
On January 3, 1936 he was united in marriage to Frances Bernice Gaither. They were married for 49 years and raised eight children in LaCygne, Kansas, Kansas City and Parkville. His wife passed away June 27, 1984. In 1987 he married Myrtis Henderson, and they lived in Five Points, AL. She preceded him in death.
Fred was a farmer and also retired for General Motors.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Kathleen Kay Cook and Freddie Sue Deily; five brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his children, Mary Lynne Bublitz, Bella Vista, AR, Sharon Aring and husband, Dale, Smithville, Helen Betts and husband, Jim, Five Points, AL, Fred Monteil, Jr. and wife, Linda, Longmont, CO, William B. Monteil and wife, Cindy, Platte City, MO, Johannah Johnson and husband, Michael, Rushville, MO; son-in-law, Dr. Jonathan Deily, Three Rivers, MI; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Minnie Vera Golden, Poplar Bluff, MO; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial: 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 11th at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Smithville, MO.
Rosary: 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church with visitation following until 9:00 p.m.
Graveside Service: 3:00 p.m at Rockville Cemetery, Rockville, MO.
Arrangements, Hixson-Klein Funeral Homes, Smithville.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
