Fred Gordon Darr

     Fred Gordon Darr, 82, of Smithville, MO passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014.

    He was born in Jefferson City, MO, April 17, 1932. He was adopted by wonderful parents, Harry & Lois Darr. Fred was raised on a farm and graduated from Green City High School.

     In January, 1952 Fred married Luella Hope.  Fred managed several dry cleaners before being an owner and operator of Darr's Elite Cleaners and Laundry in Smithville and Platte City.

Fred was an active member of the Smithville United Methodist Church and especially treasured his time with the Methodist Church Tuesday Morning Coffee group.

     He was a Charter Member of the KC Arrowhead Car Club, enjoyed classic cars, traveling and

loved his family.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Lampe; in-laws, Herbert and Hazel Hope, and niece Daphne Pinegar.

     He leaves behind his wife, Lu; three sons Mike (Ann),  Steve (Linda), James (Tiernie); one daughter, Janet (David) Anderson; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Ayers, Jeromy (Ashley) Darr, Kimberly (Tommy) Casebolt,  Jonathan (Amy) Darr; Christina (Scott) Cross, Chris  (Lauren) Darr; Phillip (Susan) Anderson, Stephanie (Chris) Ross; Joshua Darr, Courtney Darr, Marcus Anderson and Felicia Anderson; fourteen great-grandchildren, Tanner, Addison, Charley, Kierstin, Kailey, Leo, Owen, Madison, Mason, Jessica, Avery, Zoe, Adelina, and Cecilia; two nephews, Fred (Renee) Lampe and Larry (Annie) Lampe; niece, LaDonna Lampe; two great-nieces; other relatives and many friends.

Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8th at Smithville United Methodist Church.

Private family Graveside Services will be held at Ridgely Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the church.
