FRANK B. RICKETTS

Frank B. Ricketts, 102, of Smithville, Mo., passed away, Thursday, November 3, 2005 at the Gower Convalescent Center.

He was born on November 26, 1902 to John Thomas and Annie Martha (Luther) Ricketts in Kansas City, Mo. He graduated from high school in Holden, Missouri and in 1927 he received his bachelor?s degree from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. In 1939 he returned to the Kansas City area.

On July 21, 1951 he was united in marriage to Mildred Ruth Stafford. After their marriage they lived in Oakwood, in 1969 moved to Trimble, in 1982 to Smithville, and in 1998 they moved to Kearney. His wife, Mildred, preceded him in death on February 23, 2004.

Frank was assistant manager of the Woolworth Store in Warrensburg, taught School at Kansas City Barnes School, was principal at Courtney, Missouri, and worked as a home builder in the Kansas City area. He was an aircraft engine instructor and in 1943 started work in the accounting department at T.W.A.

He was an associate member of the Antioch Community Church in Gladstone where he served as chairman of the board and a member of the Smithville Christian Church.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son; Robert, and two sisters, Mary Grace Chambers and Martha Nickel.

He is survived by four grandchildren, Robin Ream, Terry Ricketts, Bobby Ricketts and Charles Brent Ricketts, one sister, Mildred Smith, Savannah, Georgia, other relatives and many friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Smithville First Christian Church with visitation one hour prior to the service.
BURIAL: Ridgely Cemetery
Donations: Frank & Mildred Ricketts Scholarship Fund in care of the First Christian Church.
Arrangements: Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
