FRANCES L. SNYDER

Frances Lucile Snyder, 89, of St. Joseph, MO, formerly of Gower, MO, passed away Monday, December 25, 2006.

She was born on November 13, 1917 to Herbert Price and Corinne Pence (St. John) Smith near Frazier, MO where she grew up and attended school.

On November 14, 1935 she was united in marriage to James W. “Jim” Snyder in St. Joseph. After their marriage they lived in Rushville until 1940 when they moved to Gower where they made their home. In 1995 they moved to St. Joseph. Her husband Jim, passed away on July 13, 1996.

Frances worked for Gray’s Furniture in Plattsburg, MO and the Gower Convalescent Center.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gower and the Campbell-Oakdale Club.

Frances was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Jack Snyder, two brothers, W.A. Smith and Dwain “Buck” Smith and one grandson, David Umphress.

She is survived by her children, Jim Snyder and wife, Mary Lou, Gower, Janet Umphress, and Jennifer Dennis and husband, Charlie, all of St. Joseph, eight grandchildren, Cindy, Kenny, Jeff, Sheri, Jimmy, Lora, Jackie, and Mike, sixteen great-grandchildren, sister, Nadine Childers and sister-in-law, Lora Dean Smith, both of Gower, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 28th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower
Burial: Allen Cemetery, Gower
Visitation: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
