In Remembrance Of

Frances “Frankie” Brooks

Frances Kay (George) Brooks, better known by family and friends as Frankie, age 70, passed away on January 18, 2022, at North Kansas City Hospital. Frankie was born February 9, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri to William Audrey George and Dorothy Ann (McGrath) Dickerson.

Frankie will forever be remembered by her two children, daughter Catherine Robinson and husband Clifford and son William “Chip” Brooks and wife Jill. She had three grandsons Zane Robinson, Cash and Briar Brooks whom she loved very much. Frankie leaves behind a sister, Barbara Martin, brothers, James “Jim” George and wife Carol, Kelly Dickerson and two sister in law(s) Elizabeth George and Kathy George. There are also three adorable cats, Bob, Thelma, Louise as well as nieces, nephews, lifelong friends and the strangers she hadn’t met yet.

To have known Frankie was a privilege, to have loved her was an honor and we are fortunate enough to call her a friend.

Frankie is preceded in death by her parents, William and Dorothy, brother(s) Donald “Butch”, William Audrey Jr. “Bill”, and Michael “Mike” George.

Frankie could be found working at Smithville Flowers, Michaels, Wally’s pastry shop, Lowes, Aunt Mary’s cookies, Family Tree, Smithville Lake, Yardworks, and Mitchell’s greenhouse just to name a few.

Frankie loved attending her grandson’s baseball games and cattle shows. Her hobbies included cooking/baking, quilting/sewing and gardening. She loved to create and used her imagination to come up with the most thoughtful and beautiful items just to give them to people she loved. Frankie also loved to travel and always spoke about seeing something new and wondering what was over the next horizon. She loved going to the beach. Her travels took her to Arkansas, California, Colorado, Wyoming, Texas, Ireland (twice) Great Britain, Wales, and Scotland. More than anything Frankie loved to be with her lifelong friends and family.

Celebration of Life Visitation: 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23rd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville

I am so very sorry for your loss. I did not learn of Frankie’s passing until tonight. I am just in shock. I worked with Frankie at Michael’s. We both had February birthdays. She was a dear friend. Prayers to everyone in your family.

Oh my goodness, I’m Frankie’s neighbor across from her house and we were wondering why we had not seen her lately!!! :'( I’m so heartbroken she’s gone and I didn’t know to say goodbye. I would have to came to her memorial if I had known. She was my best friend on the block and the kindest lady. My deepest condolences to all the family. She loved you all dearly and told me lots of farm stories because I grew up a farm girl too. I shall miss “the cat lady” forever and all of her delicious baking items she would send me. :””( Rest in peace, Frankie. I love you.

My sister was amazing and creative. Sge was always working on a new project. I will miss herhaving me to come see a new Quilt she is working on. She cared about everyone and was always doing something nice for someone. I think the thing I will miss the most is her telling me to slow down and take care of myself. Oh! and all the times I would call her and say can you use your messager on my back. I love you Sis and I am sorry I didn’t get to talk to you because I thought you were gonna beat this.

We first met Frankie 33 years ago when we were newly married. She was working at Ectonville when would buy our gas. She was so good to my Mother, Maxine King, taking wonderful care of her flower beds when Mom was no longer able.
